The Problem
SoHK for Schools works with young people who have been exposed to traumatic events such as abuse, neglect and violence.
They often lack supportive adults and can adopt challenging behaviour patterns which can ultimately inhibit their quality of life and that of those around them
Our Solution
The SoHK for Schools programme addresses these issues by using a combination of psycho-social counselling from caring adults and life skills through rugby coaching (The Hard Knocks) We create a safe space to listen, engage, motivate and inspire young participants, with data showing that they leave school with increased wellbeing, a growth mindset, a sense of achievement and raised aspirations for their future.
What is the Hard Knocks?
Over 28 weeks our learners are guided through a curriculum of structured touch rugby and life skills sessions. These sessions are developed by our delivery team, working with students and develop key life skills such as self awareness, goal setting, anger management and optimistic thinking.
